Raising a Reader - Book Sharing Program
Reading with your child is an important component of developing literacy with little ones. The "Raising a Reader" program, generously funded by WKKF, is a book sharing program offered through the Calhoun County ISD. The program encourages book sharing, or "book cuddling," and gives parents an opportunity to learn easy ways to share books with their child. Families that participate in the program receive carefully selected, age appropriate "book bags" to borrow filled with high quality books. Once they are done, families exchange and receive new books.
There is no cost to this program; families can enroll through the ISD. To enroll, call Val Stark at 269 660 1606. To learn more about the program and visit the Raising a Reader website, click here.
