Raising a Reader - Book Sharing Program
Reading with your child is an important component of developing literacy with little ones. The "Raising a Reader" program, generously funded by WKKF, is a book sharing program offered through the Calhoun County ISD. The program encourages book sharing, or "book cuddling," and gives parents an opportunity to learn easy ways to share books with their child. Families that participate in the program receive carefully selected, age appropriate "book bags" to borrow filled with high quality books. Once they are done, families exchange and receive new books.
