We believe that a highly literate community is the key to everyone’s quality of life, economic self-sufficiency, and family stability.
Volunteer to Read with Preschoolers
Volunteering to read stories to preschoolers is a great way to show children the importance of reading. It also shows children that the community cares about them, and provides them an opportunity to see additional adult role models.
To make the experience especially meaningful, make sure to read with expression and ask questions about the book as you read. Connect with the teacher to see if there are any questions they would like you to ask as you read, or if there are any lessons that might be connected to the book.
SNAP Preschool invites community readers to volunteer to read to their students. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer reader for SNAP, call at 269 968 2338.
